Temperatures only: the model's rainfall is too coarse to trust in rain-shadow valleys such as Manang, so we leave it out. Mountain valleys and ridges vary more than these grid-model averages show.
The clearest month
October is the clearest month in the Langtang valley, with sharp views of Langtang Lirung and the glaciers above Kyanjin Gompa.
What to expect
- Cold nights at Kyanjin Gompa, as the table above shows. Bring a warm sleeping bag.
- Busier than in spring, but still far quieter than Everest or Annapurna Base Camp.
