| Place | Elevation | Avg high | Avg low |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lukla | 2,860 m | +11 °C | +3 °C |
| Namche Bazaar | 3,440 m | +9 °C | +1 °C |
| Dingboche | 4,410 m | +3 °C | −6 °C |
| Gorak Shep | 5,164 m | −3 °C | −11 °C |
Modelled 10-year averages (ERA5 / ERA5-Land via Open-Meteo), checked against the Pyramid research station in the Khumbu, 2016-2025 (within about 1–2 °C of the station's measurements). Temperatures only: the model's rainfall is too coarse to trust in rain-shadow valleys such as Manang, so we leave it out. Mountain valleys and ridges vary more than these grid-model averages show.
Why November works
November keeps October’s clear, stable skies, often with even sharper mountain views as the air dries out. Trails are still busy early in the month and quieten towards the end.
What changes from October
Nights are noticeably colder, especially above Dingboche. The table above shows the modelled averages; at Gorak Shep, plan for nights well below freezing and bring a sleeping bag rated to about −15 °C.
Flights
Lukla flights remain in high demand in November. In peak seasons, flights to Lukla now leave from Ramechhap, about 4–5 hours’ drive from Kathmandu, so plan an early start the day you fly.
